schedular - cal

Postby JakeBullet on Tue May 15, 2007 10:27 am

OK... I have begun on this. I checked out the google cal and I don't like it for 1 simple reason. (besides it being NON touch screen friendly) Grandma wont use it, my wife wont use it. (I asked the wife what she thought) To confusing. To many fields to fill out.

My wife still uses a paper calender. She says its just simple to write.

Steven - Dr Appt 12:30
Chess club 14:00

Being that she knows its my Dr appointment
and the 9 yr old boy is the one who has chess club.

Although she did say an email reminder would be good.

I don't know... ideas, comments... Remember, this is for the NON techie!!!

We use outlook extensively in my family, any chance that could upload or sync to your scheduler?

I do not use outlook at all. But you are not the first to ask... :o

I do not have a time frame but I do imagine one day soon I will write a utility to do it.

A question, do you use outlook from a single computer?

Yes, for any individual calendar.
I could get all the info on a single computer by always inviting a particular install of outlook.

Could I invite your calendar to appointments I setup, that might take care of my issue.

I could also take a look at some SQL options as an outlook backend on slipstick dot com

You can't sync at this moment. Can eHome talk to Google? Oh yes. Google has a very rich set of API's. Its something I will consider but working on the office section of eHome is a few months away.

I got some good office stuff planed.
