Take a look at http://www.reactos.org/xhtml/en/index.html
It's a open source OS based on Windows NT-XP. Pretty cool stuff.

React OS

I have this running... It's really coming along nice. When it is more stable I am going to take EHome tools and make it work with it. That way no problems with MS on lic issues if you have 5 EHome computers in your house.

So much more lightweight. It will run in 32meg. Reminds me of the old NT4 except with the newer support. I even striped out all ADO - MDAC out of EHome a few days back. Now for a database I use SqLite. Saved 8meg af RAM and the EHome client speeded up! My target is to get EHome to run on 64Meg of RAM.

The only downside I personally have with this is that the 3 pentablet PCs (Fujitsu Stylistic 3500) I got from eBay use special drivers which may not work with the new OS. :(

Hopefully this is my last post until your next release comes out.

So, Stop reading my posts and get back to coding... :P

LOL.
Gave me a good laugh on that.

I think where this OS can fit in is on new custom touch screens systems.

Embeded PC: $250 (boot from a flash drive)
Touch screen: $180
OS: $0

So a nice new LEGAL eHome client can be had on the cheap.

OK, OK, I am back to programming!

:D

Its getting better!!!!

And the whole point here is to have your Win compatible drivers working the same way in ReactOS as the did in Windows...
