Will there be one?

I have been kicking around so many different ideas these last few months for the next version. I have had requests for PPC, Linix, web interface and Old versions support for Windows. Now you see lots of other products that support some of these but what the don't tell you is that yes, we can design screens for PPC and windows but 1/2 the *COOL* features that work in windows don't work in the PPC. Or yeah, its a web interface but therer is not real time updates besides the 1 minute java script timer running and really, it looks like crap unless you are a HTML guy.

But the one thing that keeps popping up for base in the Compact Framework (.NET) and Mono http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page I see support for Linux, Windows and PPC here. Although the idea of re-writing 100,000 lines of code is depressing... LOL

Or I have thought of cleaning up my VB6 base code and modifying the screen designer to do some PPC screens, but with this you will lose lots of the custom scripting the screen designer supports now.

And, thinking about dividing the product into 2 parts... A AVOD side (Audio, Video, Games) and a HA- Screen designer side... Maybe I should put up a poll?

It really comes down to the question, what do you want the PPC client to do? Everything the eHome client does? Just a piece of it? Or things that you can do while away through the internet\disconnected storage: Shopping list, home Automation?

My interest would be my custom HA screens.

Well, eHome Version 6 is in final internal beta. When this is done I will be addressing more features in the screen designer and some type of add on to include PPC.
