Insteon not responding

Postby martlist on Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:43 am

My Insteon devices are not responding to any of the associated buttons.

By following the install guide and this forum I thought I finally had a working install of eHome connected to my 18 month old powerhome install.

Both are running on same machine, the DB coinection test is good and the PH button is green when designing screens. The Socket test also passes with OK. Additionally remotecc and remoteds work fine both inside and outside of eHome.

Checking the log I see an Address in use error when setting up the UDP sockets. Anybody seen this before?

Almost sounds like you have 2 things running that are using the same address. (restart your PC) Is the log you are talking about the eHome log?

It is the eHome log. I tried to post it with the original post the the forum software thought it contained a url and would not let me.

I get other Insteon errors after that.

Something is working as the screen designer can see all my insteon devices from the database. So the DB connection is working but my gues is the socket connection is not actually working even though the test is passing.

I will try rebooting a running the socket test again.

Well I rebooted and reran the socket test in the wizard. It seems it doesn't matter what I put in the Computer Name for the Socket server section. The test always passes. I can put a completely fictional host name at it passes.

I changed it to localhost as a test, saved, and started eHome.

The Address in us error has gone away but still no response from my lights.

The sliders all start at 50% which implies they are getting no status from powerhome.

3 more posts and I can post my error log ;-)

log mailed, thanks for the help.

Looking forward to getting this working as eHome looks incredible and I have had a touch screen sitting unused for months while I was searching for a good solution.

Steve,

I'm having this same problem. I wasn't aware of it until today, because my PLC went bad and I didn't get a replacement until today.

My error log has this after I click on a button set to control an insteon or x10 device:
Code: Select all
=== 2/9/2008 10:23:03 PM ====================
--Desc: Debug Msg-Inst-slider   ph_macro("ph_insteon("FAMILYROOM_TORCH",17,255)")
--Line: 0
--Src:  eHomeClient.frmHA_Scrns.usrSlider_BtnClick

=== 2/9/2008 10:23:04 PM ====================
--Desc: Debug Msg-PH Socket Svr LOG-  ph_macro("ph_insteon("FAMILYROOM_TORCH",17,255)")
--Line: 0
--Src:  eHomeClient.frmPwrHomeSck.SendCommand_

=== 2/9/2008 10:24:24 PM ====================
--Desc: Debug Msg-PH Socket Svr LOG-  ph_macro("ph_x10btn("MUD CLOSET",2,0)")
--Line: 0
--Src:  eHomeClient.frmPwrHomeSck.SendCommand_

All device commands are being sent as ph_macro commands?

Same error I am seeing.

I should have mentioned I am running the latest beta of 5.14. This is my first install. Have never tried a previous release.
