Manny,

I'm running a client on a remote machine.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I have PH RemoteCC working on this same machine although I don't run it now.

Also, on the remote machine, I only run eHome Client. In the Client INI I have the following settings different from default:

Music server to connect to - YourPHmachine
Video server to connect to - YourPHmachine
Home server to connect to - YourPHmachine

Thanks for the reply.

I have the HA screen running on the remote client but the buttons (or what should be buttons are just black rectangles...

looks good on the PH machine...not on the remote client.

Never mind I did something, now I'm back to blank HA screen on the client...

I think I've seen that (blank screen, no buttons).

You copied the database to the client, correct?

You also set up the socket server in PH, correct?

Make sure that the CC or DS works on its own on the client, then copy over those credentials to eH.

Also, for some reason, it seemed to help if I launched the client without the Startup app once.

Double check your machine names on the server. They are case sensitive.

Well, I got the HA screen on a client, by giving up and trying it on a different touchscreen pc. Looks great but the buttons don't do anything.

You copied the database to the client, correct? Yes

You also set up the socket server in PH, correct? Yes

Make sure that the CC or DS works on its own on the client, then copy over those credentials to eH. It does. copy credentials to where?

Also, for some reason, it seemed to help if I launched the client without the Startup app once. Nope not 4 me.

Double check your machine names on the server. They are case sensitive.
Checked.

Is there an eHomeSvrHA.exe that I might be missing?

The blank screen - no buttons in the (what I call) TonyNo bug! LOL
Its the case sensitive problem. It is fixed and will be in the next version.

Buttons not doing anything is a connection problem to PH. If you click and nothing, then the socket server is not working.

If EH does not see any changes from PH, then its a remote CC, DS problem with it not being setup correctly.

As I always say, you got to crawl before you walk!!! We are crawling!!!
(yeah, yeah, yeah - the diaper is loaded!!!) :D

The eHomeSvrHA.exe was the old way to read PH before Daves remote CC and DS. Not used now.

Ok, so the next release will get TouchScreen1 online or touchscreen1 or TOUCHSCREEN1 ... My diaper needs changing...

Not sure why the Socket Server doesn't work from TOUCHSCREEN3, but RemoteDS does...

Are there more ways to troubleshoot the Socket Server?

Also the UDP broadcast IP is 192.168.0.255 in PowerHome, my PCs are on 192.168.1.xxx does that matter?

Finally I think I had a problem during install and ignored overwriting the winsock, is your version 100% necessary?

LOL!!!!

I am adding a way to test the socket server from the Wizard so there will be no more guess work.

As for your touch screen it is not working on. Delete the error log and try again. Send me the error log and I will have a look at it.

yes it does. Set the PH ones to 192.168.1.255

As long as you have version of the MS Winsock, you should be fine unless it is a really old one. Though if the one in EH is newer then the one you have on your machine let EH replace it.

I'm seeing something like this on a second client. I get a green light in the upper left and the DS works.

UDP is updating things, but it looks like the initial call to get everything doesn't work. I also can't get to web sites through the client , but Firefox works fine. I also can't control any devices or get PH macros to work from here.

Also, there are no "bad" lines in the error log. Looks like data is flowing as it should, but nothing gets to my server.

This is strange. If the DS is working then yep, data is flowing. But if it works on the other machine I cannot see how just changing machines makes the same program stop working??? (Wait, these are computers, logic has nothing to do with it!)

Try restarting the PC (I know, I know!) I will be online all day so we can get it figured out.

Also - do you see the commands making it to PH logs?

I'll try the restart. I can play with it after work (about 12 hours from now).

The commands do not show up in PH.

Is this perhaps the same issue I was having before you sent me a new eHomeClient.exe?
