After editing a screen for a while, the Move (not resizing) handle disappears. Restarting the editor brings it back.

I've noticed that, after several days, the client connection to PH stops working (I still have green dot, though).

OK - just checked on it. The way EH communicates to PH is listening (UDP) on a port.
And it talks with the socket server which is opened and closed every time.

Are updates still processed? or is it control that is the issue?

It appears to be both ways. No updates, no control.

OK - lets try this. Next time it happens, delete the log, try and control something and lets check the logs.

Ah ha! Right-clicking on the handle makes it disappear!

This is all that is in the log when control stops...

OK - thats the debug msg that tell us control messages are still being sent. But you are seeing that no control is happening?

Are you using the live editor? Or editing and then copying to another machine?

OK... we can rule out the *live* editing as an issue. I just cannot repro this. But then again... You are hammering it! lol
