eHomeWeather.exe

Postby jbbtex on Wed May 07, 2008 2:41 pm

This file is maxing out on CPU usage. And over time I get several eHomeWeather.exe listed in Task Manager Processes tab.
Several of these entries are in the error log.
Code: Select all
=== 5/7/2008 12:26:43 AM ====================
--Desc: Debug Msg-found eHome weather in memory - closing
--Line: 0
--Src:  eHomeSvrHome.clsGlobal.GetWeatherInfo

If I Shut Down All using the EH Manager, eHomeWeather.exe does not terminate.

I downloaded the lastest beta and reinstalled. Nothing changed.

While changing out my flakey Insteon PLC to a new PLM, I discovered about 20-30 instances of ehomeweather running. Same error in log.

The first entry was on 5/6/2008 at 7:56:40 AM CDT.

I killed everything, started it up again, and another instance pops up whenever I click Get and Broadcast Weather button in the server window.

Well, fixed the getting stuck in memory problem. But in the big picture that is nothing as the Weather Channel changed their API and EVERY request fails now. (Its been working for 5+ years so it was a good run) Searched for the error and lots of other products broke too. OK... Now just how to fix it...

For the moment just turn your weather off.

I thought perhaps the problem was with the data source. I use Tony's Weather Macro in PH for forecasts except I modified it to pull from the National Weather Service. Only problem is when the regular forecaster goes on vacation, the formatting of the text page changes and my parsing no longer works.

Looks like the problem is due to TWC starting to enforce their rules (maybe due to a pending change of ownership)...

I think I turned off weather, but there were still a few ehomeweather's running.

What is the correct way to turn it off?

I started using the mobile version of Weather Underground (http://mobile.wunderground.com) as it seems more code-stable than the regular web page. The main site also has an RSS feed (http://www.wunderground.com).
