eHome Digial Tools

I'm not able to get my eHome client past "initializing". I saw the other thread from someone else having the exact same problem. I'm not getting an error log, so I'm not sure what is going on. For now, I'm just trying to get the environment up and running all on the same PC. Later, I'll attempt to create a separate client.

Any ideas on what to try?

I seem to be having the same issue. Client won't load, just hangs at the splash screen. No error logs are generated under the ErrLogs folder. Version 5.15 Build 593 running on Vista Ultimate x86.

I think the hanging is a port issue - (we do lots of UDP - TCP/IP stuff) on start up
Let me get a little more testing in.

I do have a newer version ready for upload that should handle these issues
I am just working on a 10 hr time difference and the 36hrs of travailing with my body laughing at me telling me I am not 20 anymore...

also to... turnoff you servers (audio - video) - just run the home server, and only load the games and kitchen for the client, see if that clears up the issue - also to, shut the client off and try loading it by itself - I will get that new version up this evening.

OK - I posted a V5.16 on the web site. This was a build I did just before I left Ukraine - it should be OK, I have a new touch screen and some more testing hardware coming in this Sunday so should be able to get more complete testing done. Also have only had limited testing on Vista and the roommate donated me a box so I need to get it installed and figure out what if any the issue is.

OK- sleep...

Just installed 5.16 on the server. It complained about registering the flash.ocx file (unable to register: regsvr32 failed with exit code 0x5) and it still says 5.15 on the splash screen.

Uh oh. Installed on client and hitting Home on my music screen (the playlist bit) crashes the eHome client immediately with nothing in the log...

OK, restarted client and it's not crashing now.

AAAAHHHH.... Should of registered, you probably had another version running. All though not needed now - had some flash games I was adding but the dev guy tripled the price on the games at the end so that fell through. It has been removed from the kit.

just checked. Yeah the 5.15 on the 1st splash screen is a typo - (fixed now) but the client should say 5.16

Still happening? Or only the 1 time thing?

Not that I can see.
